International Application Process
International Students
Tyne Metropolitan College is a college of Further and Higher Education with two campuses located on the outskirts of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne in the North East of England. We will offer full time courses ranging from Entry Level for school leavers, to Higher Education courses leading to the award of Higher National Diplomas and Foundation Degrees.
Please note however, that we do not offer full honours degrees or postgraduate qualifications.
The current tuition fee for an International Student on a Further Education course is £4600.00 per year. For Higher National Diplomas and Foundation Degrees the fee is £5750.00 per year.
Tuition fees must be paid in full at enrolment. If at enrolment you are unable to pay your course fees your application will be Withdrawn and the UK Border Agency informed.
As an International Student you are welcome to apply for a full time course of study to start in September 2010. The following information should help you complete your application.
Accommodation
The college does not offer student accommodation, but accommodation to rent is relatively plentiful in North Tyneside, Newcastle and the surrounding area.
How to Apply
Please follow ONE of the methods below:
- Apply Online using the courses shopping basket to add the courses you are interested in, fill in your details and press submit.
- Download the application form using the link at the bottom of this page, print off the application form and return this to the college via post.
Ensure that your full Forename and Surname are clearly written on the application form as errors may lead to problems in obtaining entry clearance.
On your application form please indicate clearly which course you wish to apply for from our list of full time courses. It is important that you also state which level of course, for example: National Diploma, A levels, Foundation Degree.
Applications can only be made for level 3 or 4 courses as stated above.
If you are aged between 16 and 18 years old you also need to enclose a letter from your parents/ guardians containing the name and address of the person with whom you will be living whilst at college. The named person should act as your guardian whilst you are in the UK.
If you wish to apply for a Higher Education course i.e. Higher National Diploma or Foundation Degree, you may also need to the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). To obtain a UCAS Directory and application form please contact your nearest British Council Office, or:

For Higher Education courses not listed in the Directory, you may apply directly to the college.
Please note that applications for entry onto courses in September 2010 must be received by 2nd July 2010. We are not able to process applications received after this date.
With your application please enclose copies of any school/ college qualification certificates obtained for examinations taken at aged 14 years or above. These certificates will be verified with the awarding body. Please also enclose a copy of your passport.

Please note that applications without the necessary documentation will not be processed.
Letter of Acceptance
Once we have received your application and your supporting documentation has been verified, your application will be assessed. If you meet the relevant entry requirements for your chosen course, you will be sent your Confirmation of Acceptance letter.
At enrolment you will be required to sign an International Student Declaration. As your sponsor we have a responsibility to the UK Border Agency to keep them informed of your attendance at college, this will be done on a weekly basis. If your attendance does not meet the required target an we receive no reason for absence we will withdraw your course place offer and inform the UK Border Agency. This may result in your visa being withdrawn.

Please note that Tyne Metropolitan College may share your application data with relevant organisations during the application process to authenticate your application.
